Six years before COVID-19, I, an English teacher, was teaching smart classes in a brick-and-mortar classroom, similar to what we call remote classes today.
I scanned a PDF file of the paper textbook onto my laptop and lectured with an e-pen while sharing the same screen with my students' smartphones, tablets, or laptops. In the end, they didn't have to jockey for position, and they didn't have to squint at the light reflecting off the board or break their necks looking at a monitor stuck to the ceiling.
Most importantly, the lecture time was reduced by about 40% compared to the traditional method of reading from a projector on a blackboard, and the students were much happier with the multimedia, such as images and videos, that livened up the sometimes dull lectures.
The irony is that no one recognized this teaching system at the time, but the pandemic, which we all suffered through, confirmed its value. Unfortunately, sweet and plausible marketing copy (100 % rebates, Spartan management...) is influencing your judgment a lot.
Especially if the majority of students are reimbursed, which feels like a test of willpower.
The Department of Education should give awards,
It should be a media sensation,
Unfortunately, the school will soon have to close due to unprofitability...
(This is a bittersweet scene of the tail wiggling the body)
