Webster Transfer School Philosophy
Here are some of my thoughts on the university transfer education business.
This is easier said than done for a for-profit school.
However, Webster University will continue to take the high road when it comes to doing what needs to be done and not cross the line when it comes to what shouldn't be done.
Message to test takers
โพ Judge a course by its content, not by inflated counseling, reviews, or acceptance numbers
โพ Don't put too much faith in unverifiable personal experiences on YouTube
โพ Keep the main idea in mind and good results will follow with mind control
โพ studying is stressful in itself, so you endure 6 days to play for 1 day
โพ If you get a bad result, you haven't failed, you just made a mistake

โพ You need to constantly study the content, not just talk a good game
โพ Consider how to deliver content in a changing environment
โพ Don't be a nitrogen-filled bag of sweets with hyperbole
โพ Be able to speak out on social issues, both right and wrong

Webster is the name of the American dictionary compiler Noah Webster. Webster recognized the need for the newly independent United States to gain independence from Britain not only in politics, laws, and institutions, but also in language, so he published the American Dictionary of the English Language based on American linguistic life.

The preface to the dictionary states. "Language is the expression of ideas. If the people of a country cannot preserve the independence of their ideas, they cannot preserve the independence of their language." Webster, who argued that traditional British spelling was not only out of sync with pronunciation, but also inefficient, with many unnecessary letters that were never pronounced, believed that American English needed to be different from British English in order to have linguistic sovereignty.

Eventually, he led the American spelling reform movement in favor of phonetic spelling for ease of understanding. Here are some examples of how Webster changed British spellings to American ones.

I made it myself in my spare time while teaching for four years. It took me six months to complete the word list alone. There are a few vocabulary books out there, but I think this is the first one that explains words with images.
According to the "picture superiority effect" in cognitive psychology, words learned through images are remembered six times longer.

I thought it would add a little fun to the boring word memorization, but it was actually so hard to work with images that I gave up twice before finally finishing it. My wife is a graphic designer so she helped me a lot.

Based on the above reference books, we created word list data, added synonyms and short example sentences, and categorized the difficulty level by color.
